Bedford Park began as a stopping place for farmers headed to the city market, and likely took its name from the Bedford Park Hotel, which opened at Yonge and Fairlawn in 1873. The neighbourhood joined the Town of North Toronto in 1890. Its tree-lined streets of detached and semi-detached brick homes date mostly from 1890 to 1940.

It is a neighbourhood of families. Children walk to John Wanless, Bedford Park and Blessed Sacrament schools, and Yonge Street north of Lawrence is a busy strip of cafés, bakeries and small shops. Many parents commute on Line 1 from Lawrence station.

We're a little farther north than the dental offices on Yonge, so we want to be clear about why families make the trip. Our Tuesday and Thursday evening hours fit around school and work, there's free parking at the door, and we can book children and parents back to back.

Getting here from Bedford Park

By car

Take Avenue Road or Bathurst Street north across Highway 401. On Bathurst, continue to just past Sheppard Avenue West, where 4430 Bathurst St is on the left. Park free in the building's lot.

By transit

From Lawrence station, ride Line 1 north to Sheppard-Yonge, then take the 84 Sheppard West bus west to Bathurst Street. Get off at the Bathurst Street stop, a short walk from the building. The trip takes about 25 to 30 minutes in total.

Tip: Coming on a weekday evening avoids the worst of the 401 traffic around Avenue Road.

We're in Suite 509 on the 5th floor of 4430 Bathurst St. Both elevators in the lobby go to the 5th floor. Several other dental offices share this building, so look for Suite 509. Free parking behind the building, including wheelchair-accessible spaces.

Bedford Park dental FAQ

Why travel from Bedford Park to see you?

Our evening hours, free parking and small practice suit busy families. With one dentist, Dr. Sayeh Maralani, your children see a familiar face at every check-up.

How long is the trip by subway?

About 25 to 30 minutes from Lawrence station, including the 84 Sheppard West bus from Sheppard-Yonge.

Do you put sealants on children's teeth?

Yes. Sealants are a thin coating on the chewing surfaces of back teeth that helps prevent cavities. We'll tell you if your child's molars would benefit.

Can Invisalign fix a teenager's crowding?

Often, yes. We assess your teen first. If braces are a better fit, we'll refer you to an orthodontist, since we don't offer traditional braces.
